Executive Director - Jane Robinson, L.M.H.C., RPT-S, IMH Specialist
Jane Robinson founded All ‘Bout Children in 1999 on a volunteer basis and is Executive Director. She is a Licensed Mental Health Counselor, Registered Play Therapist-Supervisor and certified in Infant Mental Health through The Center for Prevention and Early Intervention Policy at Florida State University.
Jane collaborates with the local community colleges and universities in training students, teachers and graduate level mental health counselor/ social worker interns in play therapy for the young child (ages birth-5) in ABC’s program.
Jane presents workshops for teachers, directors and supervisors in child development centers on Mental Health for the Young Child.
In addition, she presents workshops at professional, local and national conferences. She serves on several community committees dedicated to improving the profession of child care. Jane created and directs ABC’s Child and Family Center specializing in trauma, attachment difficulties, divorce, depression and behavioral problems in young children and their parents using play therapy and filial therapy.
Jane created a manual, “Managing Feelings and Behavior in the Classroom and at Home,” used by ABC as guide and reference for teachers and parents of young children. In collaboration with Roxanne Grobbel, JD, LCSW, Jane has written a chapter, “Play Therapy Techniques with Very Young At-Risk Children in Child Care Settings” published in the book Play Therapy with Very Young Children, edited by Dr. Charles Shaefer.
YMCA of Boca Raton, FL honored Jane in 2000 as Volunteer of the Year for Play Therapy and teacher training. The Association of Education for the Young Child (AEYC) of the Palm Beaches honored her with the Mary Bondarin Award for Service to Children and Families in 2004. She was recognized in 2005 by the Palm Beach Post as a “notable” (person who cares about their community). She was also nominated for the 2011 “Purpose Prize,” a national award for people over 60 who combine their passion and experience for social good.
