Workshop Objectives:

Participants will:

• learn the essential skills needed to work with young children
• how to engage and work with the youngest of clients
• how to watch, wait, and wonder in order to learn from children’s play
• how to help children identify feelings and learn appropriate ways to express them
• understand impediments to social and emotional wellness: risk factors, trauma, attachment disorders/issues
• learn how these issues affect children’s behavior and how play therapy helps
